Yeasted rolls with cottage cheese filling

You can use the cottage cheese filling not only in buns but also in rolls. It’s easy!

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup butter + for spreading
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

Cheese filling

  • 1 cup of cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon

Method:

  1. Dissolve the yeast in the water and set aside.
  2. Mix the melted butter, sugar, and salt in a blender.
  3. Beat the eggs and add them to the butter mixture.
  4. Stir in the milk and yeast mixture.
  5. Add flour and work into a dough.
  6. Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a bowl.
  7. Leave to rise until the dough has doubled in size.
  8. In the meantime, prepare the cheese filling.
  9. Mix the cottage cheese, sugar, eggs, vanilla sugar, and cinnamon thoroughly.
  10. Divide the risen dough into four equal parts.
  11. Roll each part into a circle and cut it into triangles.
  12. Place a spoonful of curd filling on the end of each triangle and roll towards the tip.
  13. Place on a baking sheet and leave to rise for approximately 20 minutes.
  14. Brush the rolls with melted butter before putting them in the oven.
  15. Bake in an oven preheated to 338°F until golden brown, approximately 10 minutes.
