Traditional Homemade White Flour Sandwiches

It is a simple bread made with just a few ingredients, such as flour, water, yeast, salt, and milk. This recipe promises a super soft interior with an extra crispy crust. And what to spread it with? You can be inspired by these 6 New Year’s Eve spreads on our website!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 1/4 cup lukewarm milk
  • 2 and 1/4 teaspoons yeast (powder)
  • 2 spoons of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 1/3 cups all-purpose flour or bread flour

Method

  • Mix the warm water, milk, yeast, and sugar in a bowl.
  • Cover and let stand for 5 minutes.
  • Add butter, salt, and 1 cup flour.
  • Knead until everything is relatively combined.
  • Add the remaining flour and continue to combine either in a bowl or on a lightly floured surface.
  • Lightly grease a large bowl with olive oil.
  • Place the dough in the bowl and turn to coat all sides.
  • Cover the bowl with aluminum foil, plastic wrap, or a clean kitchen towel and leave to rise in a relatively warm environment for 1-2 hours.
  • Grease the bread pan with butter.
  • When the dough is risen, you work it to release the air.
  • Place the loaf in the prepared pan.
  • Cover the loaf and let it rise again for 1 more hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake for 30-34 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cover the pan loosely with aluminum foil if the top is browning too quickly.
  • Remove the loaf from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
