Nut and Lemon Christmas cookies

Nuts should be included in the Christmas kitchen. Pair them with zesty lemon and sweet sugar for a delicious flavor!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon lemon peel (can also be dried)
  • 4 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
  • 1 egg for brushing
  • ground walnuts for sprinkling

Method

  • Sift the flour and powdered sugar and put everything in a bowl.
  • Add chopped, softened butter, egg yolks, lemon zest, and juice, and process everything into a smooth dough.
  • Cover the bowl with cling film and place the dough in the fridge to rest for about 2 hours.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured roll, cut out various favorite shapes, brush them with beaten egg, sprinkle with nuts, and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  • Place the prepared cookies in a preheated oven and bake at 320°F until pink.
  • Leave to cool for a while after baking. Bon Appetite!
