Gluten-free Easy Homemade Sandwich Bread

This recipe will bring you a soft, tasty, and leavened homemade butter cake. And it is entirely gluten-free. If you are looking for more entertaining inspiration, try decorating the canapés.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 3 spoons honey or sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 3 large eggs

Method

  • Place the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a bowl and mix until combined.
  • Add the milk and whisk constantly. The mixture will be crumbly initially, but it will come together once you add all the milk.
  • Add the butter and beat until thoroughly combined.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  • Place the dough in an oiled bowl and rise for 1 hour.
  • Towards the end of the rising time, preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Bake for 38 to 42 minutes until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven, tip out of the tin, and leave to cool on a wire rack.
Baked bread with a golden crust in bread form.
