Stars create a magical December atmosphere, making them perfect for festive coffee Christmas cookies.
Ingredients
To make the dough :
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon of black coffee (the stronger the better)
- A pinch of lemon zest
For the frosting:
- 1/4 cup of white chocolate
- 1/4 cup of margarine (you can use butter)
- 1 teaspoon instant coffee (Café Bustelo Espresso Instant Coffee or Nescafé)
Method
- Sift flour and icing sugar into a bowl. Add margarine/or butter, egg yolk, coffee, and lemon zest, and make a smooth dough.
- Roll out a sheet about half a centimeter in size, cut stars out of it, and place it on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- Place in the oven heated to 400°F and bake for about 10 minutes. Allow the stars to cool after baking.
- While the stars were baking, you prepared the glaze to dip the gingerbread in.
- Split the stars in half. Dip one-half into the white chocolate frosting and let it dry. These stars will serve as tops.
- Spread the other half of the stars with jam or cream and glue them together with the stars that already have a coating.

If the process of separating the individual grains is tiring, you can directly place them from the chocolate bath into the paper cups to create clusters of more chocolate grains.
