Baked carp in the oven with bacon and garlic

Do you love baked carp and bacon? If you’ve never tried putting these two ingredients together, now’s your chance.

Ingredients needed:

  • 1 peeled carp (roughly 1.5 kg)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 onion
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 200 g of high-quality English bacon
  • 1 teaspoon spicy spices (whatever you like to use – goulash, oriental, barbecue, etc.)
  • 0.5 teaspoons of ground pepper (if you don’t like it, you don’t have to give it)
  • A piece of butter
  • 1 pepper (red, white, whatever you have at home)
  • Breadcrumbs

Recipe procedure:

  • Prepare a tall baking dish, grease it thoroughly with butter, sprinkle it with breadcrumbs and cover the bottom with slices of English bacon.
  • Rub the carp on both sides with crushed garlic and sprinkle with spicy spices, place in the bacon baking pan and cover the not-weak rounds with chopped onions.
  • Add 0.5 dl of oil or water, whichever suits you better. Cut 4 thin slices of butter and place on top of the onion.
  • Finally, place the pepper cut into thin strips around the carp. Bake in an oven heated to 180°-190°C for about 35 minutes.
  • If necessary, pour a little boiling water over the carp while it is baking and occasionally lift it slightly so that it does not tend to overcook.
  • As a side dish, you can serve mashed potatoes, potatoes baked in the oven with cumin, classic boiled potatoes, etc.
