Lucerne Advent Market Program

You can find the Christmas atmosphere in several places in the city center, each of which has its own unique character.

Lozärner Wiehnachtsmärt

Lucerne’s most popular traditional Christmas market takes place every year on Franziskanerplatz. The Lozärner Wiehnachtsmärt is filled with decorated wooden huts selling all kinds of gifts, crafts and traditional delicacies.

On the fountain, as a sign of the fair, shines the largest Advent wreath in central Switzerland, more than three meters in diameter, decorated with hundreds of ornaments and huge candles.

The market will take place from December 4, 2025 to December 21, 2025, stalls are open every day from 11:00 to 20:00, food stalls until 21:00.

Rudolf’s Christmas Spectacle

In Inseli Park you will find another of Lucerne’s popular Advent markets – Rudolfs Weihnacht, which consists of cozy wooden huts offering handmade gifts as well as tasty treats.

Visitors will also appreciate the fondue hut, winter bar and special yurt for children. You can visit it from November 15, 2025 to December 22, 2025. It is open from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 22:00, and on Sunday until 20:00.

Interesting places in Lucerne

Kapellbrücke

The most famous Lucerne monument is undoubtedly the Chapel Bridge, built in the 14th century to connect the old town on the north bank with the new settlement on the south bank of the Reuss River. His famous paintings depict some of the most important events in Swiss history.

This unique symbol of Lucerne is also the oldest covered wooden bridge in Europe. Although the water tower is original, some parts of the roof have been rebuilt, as they were unfortunately destroyed in a 1993 fire that engulfed part of the bridge. The bridge measures 170 m and is intended for pedestrians only.

Musegg Towers, built between 1350 and 1408 to defend the city, are located on a hill above the city. Currently, only three of the nine towers are open to the public, but they offer one of the most impressive views of Lucerne.
