Ingredients:
- salmon – any kind
- soy sauce (or gluten-free – tamari)
- sesame oil
- honey (or maple syrup or brown sugar)
- rapeseed oil
- optional ingredients: sriracha or other hot sauce, green onions, and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions:
- First, cut the salmon into cubes.
- Mix soy sauce, sesame oil, and honey (optionally sriracha) and pour it over the salmon.
- Toss to coat.
- Optional: At this stage, you can marinate the salmon in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 6 hours, stirring occasionally. This will enhance the flavor, but you can continue with the recipe if you don’t have time to marinate.
- Heat a large frying pan and add oil.
- Remove the salmon pieces to the pan using tongs, leaving the sauce in the bowl.
- Sear the salmon skin side down (if it has skin) for 2-3 minutes, then flip and sear the other side for 2-3 minutes or until cooked through.
- Pour the remaining sauce into the pan and toss gently to coat the salmon.
- Serve garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
