These tubes are soft, not only because of their dough but also because of the delicious Italian cream that you have to try.
Finally, sprinkle them with powdered sugar and place them on the Christmas table.
You will see that you will reap success with them!
Ingredients
Dough
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups butter
- 2 cups sour cream
- 1 egg
Cream
- 1 cup egg whites
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups icing sugar
- some water
- chopped hazelnuts (amount to your taste)
Method
- Make a dough from flour, sour cream, and butter (cut into cubes). Wrap it in cling film and put it in the fridge for at least 3 hours.
- Prepare a metal mold for tubes with pudding and grease it.
- Roll out the dough and cut it into strips, which you wrap around the metal tubes so that the dough covers them.
- Brush the surface with beaten egg and bake in a preheated oven. Bake at 340°F for about 12 minutes – watch the tubes so they don’t burn.
- After baking, let them cool a little and carefully remove the warm tubes from the mold.
- Beat the egg whites with the icing sugar until foamy. In a saucepan, bring the icing sugar to a boil with a little water and boil the syrup. Add enough water to submerge the sugar. Do not add more.
- Pour the prepared syrup, stirring constantly, into a small stream into the whipped cream. Blend until a smooth, glossy, stiff foam forms. Add the nuts to the foam.
- Fill the tubes with foam and sprinkle their surface with sugar.
