Nuremberg Gingerbread Cake

Let the great taste of Nuremberg gingerbread cake inspire you to try this recipe on a baking sheet, without compromising on the flavors.
Ingredients:
- 2 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 cup of almonds
- 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar
- 3 teaspoons of gingerbread spice
- 2 tsp cocoa
- 1 bag of baking powder
- 1 1/4 cups of candied fruit
- 2/3 cup of butter
- 1 cup of milk
- 2 eggs
- 3 tablespoons of honey
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
- 2 tbsp hot water
- whole peeled almonds
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix the flour and cocoa powder.
- Add the brown sugar, ground almonds, gingerbread spice, and baking powder. Mix well.
- Add the finely chopped candied fruit to the prepared mixture and mix well again.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a separate bowl, melt the butter and add the milk, honey, and eggs. Beat until frothy.
- Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture and mix until well combined.
- Spread the dough carefully on the baking sheet and decorate with whole peeled almonds.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the gingerbread is baking, prepare the frosting. Mix the sifted powdered sugar with the lemon juice until smooth.
- Add hot water spoonfuls by spoonfuls to make a smooth glaze.
- Once the gingerbread has cooled, coat it evenly with the lemon glaze.
- Once the frosting has been set, cut it into pieces and serve.
