New Year’s Eve mini burgers for kids

While kids tend to go to bed earlier than adults on New Year’s Eve, they can still be some of the most discerning guests at your dinner table.
Create scrumptious and innovative canapés that are sure to bring a smile to the faces of even the youngest diners at your table this New Year’s Eve.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups ground beef
- 3 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 slices of white bread
- 2 tablespoons prepared salad dressing (e.g. Annie’s Homegrown Thousand Island)
- 2 thinly sliced onions
- 4 young cucumbers, thinly sliced
- 3 thinly sliced cherry tomatoes
Instructions:
- Shape the beef into twelve one-inch patties.
- Place them on a microwave-safe plate lined with paper towels.
- Cover with another paper towel, microwave on high for 1 minute until the meat changes color.
- Cut the cheese into small pieces corresponding to the pieces of meat.
- Cut 6 rounds from each slice of bread with a round cutter.
- Spread half of the bread slices with the dressing (you can also substitute another sauce or ketchup).
- Layer meat, cheese, onion, cucumber and tomato on the cut-out edge.
- Cover the top with another piece of bread and secure with a toothpick.
