Glued nut cookies
7. 10. 2025
There is never enough sugar, which applies doubly to the sticky one. We regularly make the classic Linnaeus and various other types that stick together, but the walnut one is unrivaled, like everything with nuts in it.
What will we need?
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup of butter
- 1/2 cup of ground walnuts
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
- 1 egg yolk (if they are small, then preferably 2)
- powdered sugar for decoration
Method:
- Mix flour with icing sugar, and add ground walnuts, softened butter, and egg yolk.
- We make smooth, non-sticky dough on a rolling pin or in a bowl, which we store in a bag and leave to rest in the refrigerator until the next day.
- The next day, let the dough loosen slightly, put it on a floured rolling pin, and roll it out into a sheet about 0.2 inches thick.
- Using the molds, always cut out the shapes as you like so that the same pair fits together for gluing. Flowers, stars, or toothed wheels are ideal, but that depends on each housewife’s imagination.
- Place the individual pieces on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and place in an oven preheated to 356°F. Bake for about 5 to 6 minutes until golden.
- Let the baked cookies cool down, and only then glue them together.
