Crisp rolls with vanilla and cinnamon

Vanilla and cinnamon are the spices most associated with Christmas. Try their combination in this deliciously delicious cookie.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 1 cup of butter
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup ground walnuts or hazelnuts
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

For wrapping

  • 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Method:

  1. Beat the butter and icing sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add the ground nuts, vanilla extract, and cinnamon, mixing until well combined.
  3. At the end, add the sifted flour in parts and work it into a dough.
  4. Divide the dough into thirds, wrap it in cling film, and let it rest in the fridge for an hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 347°F.
  6. Remove the first part of the dough from the refrigerator.
  7. Break off small pieces of dough and shape them into a roll or crescent shape.
  8. Place the vanilla rolls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  9. Repeat with the remaining dough.
  10. Bake for approximately 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly browned.
  11. Mix a teaspoon of ground cinnamon, vanilla, and powdered sugar in a small bowl.
  12. Roll the still-warm pastry in cinnamon sugar.
