Cottage cheese rolls with jam

It is a delicate, sweet pastry that is perfect for breakfast and a snack. In addition to jam, you can easily fill them with poppy seeds, apples, or nuts.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup semi-coarse flour
  • 1 cup of cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1/2 cup of plum jam
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup of lukewarm milk
  • 2 eggs + 1 yolk
  • 0.8oz of fresh yeast
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • Pearl sugar for decoration

Method:

  1. Pour the flour and vanilla sugar into the bowl.
  2. Add chopped and softened butter, one egg, an extra yolk, sugar, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Start kneading and gradually add yeast dissolved in lukewarm milk and cottage cheese.
  4. Mix and work the dough thoroughly.
  5. Then, let the dough rise in a covered bowl until it doubles in size.
  6. After rising, divide the dough into two equal parts.
  7. Roll out each part to form a circle with a diameter of about 15 inches
  8. Divide the circle into 12 equal triangles and cover them with plum jam.
  9. Roll up the triangles.
  10. Place the rolls on a tray lined with baking paper, brush with egg, and sprinkle with pearl sugar.
  11. Leave the cheese rolls to rise for another 45 minutes.
  12. Bake in an oven preheated to 356°F for approximately 10 minutes.
