Chocolate Hazelnut Tarts

These mini walnut cupcakes with chocolate filling are a delicious treat. They consist of a soft buttery dough and are filled with a silky smooth chocolate filling that will melt in your mouth.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- a pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cup dark chocolate
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup hazelnuts (finely chopped)
Method
- Combine the flour, cocoa powder, icing sugar, and salt and mix until combined.
- Add the cold chopped butter and stir.
- Then add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until a dough forms.
- Cover the dough with cling film and let it set in the fridge for at least an hour.
- Transfer the dough to a clean, floured surface and roll it out with a rolling pin, and cut out small circles.
- Place the cut dough into the molds.
- Poke holes in the bottom of the cupcake with a fork and put them in the freezer for at least 20 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 15-20 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool while you prepare the filling.
- Melt the dark chocolate and mix it with the cream and nuts.
- Pour the chocolate filling into the cooled cupcakes.
- Put the walnut cupcakes in the fridge for 2-3 hours to harden the filling.
