Ingredients
- 2 cups of condensed milk
- 3/4 cup white or cane sugar
- 1/2 cube of butter
- optional flavorings – e.g., selected seeds from a vanilla pod or a spoonful of cocoa
- half a teaspoon salt
Method
- In a pot or pan, rub the butter with the sugar. Cook over low heat until the sugar dissolves in the butter.
- Then, add the condensed milk and mix everything.
- Cook the mixture for about 30 minutes until you reach the right consistency. It should be pretty thick but easy to spread.
- You have to watch the mixture all the time and stir quite often. This will ensure that the mixture is homogeneous and does not burn.
- If you want to give the cream a unique taste, you can mix cocoa, vanilla, or other ingredients into it at the very end of cooking.
- Your caramel cream is ready!
