7. 10. 2025
Rolls with nuts are primarily classic, but this recipe will quickly convince you that replacing them with almonds is okay. The candy will be even more delicate and delicious.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups plain flour
- 1 cup cold butter
- 3/4 cup ground almonds
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- powdered sugar for coating
Method:
- Cut the cold butter into small pieces.
- Combine the flour, butter, ground almonds, sugar, vanilla extract, and egg yolk in a medium bowl.
- Work into a homogeneous dough with your hands and shape it into a ball.
- Wrap the dough in cling film and put it in the fridge for at least an hour.
- Preheat the oven to 338°F and line the trays with baking paper
- Dust a rolling pin or work surface with a small amount of flour and divide the dough into four equal parts.
- Keep a quarter of the dough outside and put the rest in the fridge. You should only take out a small amount of dough at a time and leave the rest in the cold.
- Knead the dough briefly and then roll it out with your hands until it becomes a long roll about 0.4-0.6 inches thick.
- If the dough falls apart, knead it briefly and roll it out again.
- Cut the dough into roughly 3-3.2 inches long pieces and shape them into rolls.
- Place the rolls on the tray and repeat the process with the other three parts of the dough.
- Bake until golden, depending on the size of the rolls, approximately 12-15 minutes.
- Roll the still-warm vanilla rolls in powdered sugar.
