Bratislava Christmas program

Bratislava Christmas is here again! Concerts, Christmas markets, creative workshops for children, guided walks, exhibitions, silent disco and swaps . All this is waiting for you during the Bratislava Christmas in the entire territory of the capital. In addition to the main organizer, which is the Bratislava Cultural and Information Center (BKIS), all 17 city districts and several city organizations participate in the program.

• The grand opening of the Main Christmas Market on the Main Square will take place on Friday, November 24 at 6:00 p.m. with the lighting of the Christmas tree at 6:15 p.m. In addition to the inherent Christmas markets, BKIS also offers a rich cultural program on Franciscan Square .
• Fridays will belong to literature and young music . In cooperation with domestic publishing houses, well-known personalities will read from Slovak literary works. The event will be interpreted into Slovak sign language. After the reading, young Slovak bands will perform on stage.
• Saturdays will delight children as well as lovers and lovers of female voices . In the afternoon, there will be readings from homemade works for children, again with interpretation into Slovak sign language. In the evening there will be concerts by female artists with bands.
• Sundays will be full of music . Afternoon concerts by art schools, various musical ensembles and evening concerts by well-known Slovak music groups await you.
• On Lucia you will experience the Night of the Witches , a magical celebration of the night of St. Lucia in both traditional and less traditional versions.
• Concerts await you in Klarisky at Christmas , as well as a silent disco, clothing and children’s toy swap, and creative workshops.
• In Janko Krále Park, you will experience a magical Santa Claus adventure accompanied by lanterns.

Music is an integral part of the Christmas atmosphere. This year too, you will be accompanied throughout the entire duration of the Main Christmas Market by special Christmas playlists made up of the wishes and favorite Christmas songs of well-known figures of social and cultural life.

Christmas forest

The popular Christmas Forest project completes the Christmas atmosphere of the city for the seventh time.

Each tree is an original work and contains a number of hand-made decorations that children from 36 elementary, art and special schools in Bratislava prepared for themselves by teachers and educators. They looked for inspiration in nature and traditional folk techniques.

The parade of Christmas trees will be on display at the Primatial Square .

Friendly zone

New for Bratislava Christmas 2023 is the Friendly Zone located on Primaciální náměstí near the Main Christmas Market . Experience the festive and joyful mood in the middle of the action, yet in a cozy atmosphere and with a unique view of the magical Christmas forest.

The friendly zone is available for you from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. IKEA took care of the design and equipment of the Welcome Zone.
