Traditional advent wreath for the table

The most common place of this decoration in homes is the kitchen or living room. We have a simple tutorial for you on how to make a pine wreath that anyone can do.

What will we need:

  • wreath base (polystyrene or straw)
  • four candles
  • wire
  • small pliers
  • Christmas ornaments and other decorations
  • donuts
  • spices – star anise, cinnamon, or cloves
  • dried fruit – lemons or oranges
  • conifer twigs
Everything you need to make an Advent wreath.

  • First, we wrap the base of the wreath with twigs and fasten them with a weak wire.
  • We attach the twigs to the base and slowly wrap them around.
  • It is necessary to tighten properly so that the twigs do not break.
  • Therefore, do not be afraid to ask someone from the family to hold the foundation for you and you can fasten everything better.
  • If a wire is peeking out somewhere, it is enough to insert additional twigs into the wreath, which will cover the wire and at the same time decorate the wreath.

Decorating a wreath:

  • Once you have the wreath base ready, you can start decorating it.
  • To place the candles, it is recommended to use a small cup.
  • In the cup, there is a small dagger that you should insert into the pre-prepared hole in the candle. Afterward, stick the whole thing into the base of the wreath.
  • When it comes to decorating, there are no limits to imagination.
  • Ornaments, cones, spices, and other decorations can be placed anywhere. Some people prefer symmetry, while others prefer the opposite.

  • We seal the beginning and the end with a melt gun.
  • Attach a bundle of twigs to the selected place, and secure it with a hot melt gun and string.
  • Decorate with cones and other small decorations.
  • We will make a curtain on the upper part of the wreath.
  • We cut the necessary part from the ribbon, weave it through the wreath, and tie it in a knot.
  • We will craft a bow using a different piece of ribbon and embellish the upper section.
  • The door decoration is ready and we can hang it.

You can also scent your home with a gingerbread wreath. If you like to bake, you may be pleasantly surprised. You will need several cookie cutters and two plates of different sizes.

  • Cut out other smaller stars to decorate the wreath.
  • Put everything on a tray lined with baking paper and bake at 356 °F for about 7-8 minutes.
  • After baking, brush the still-warm gingerbread with beaten egg.
  • Beat egg whites, sugar, lemon juice, and potato starch into a mixture for decoration.
  • We decorate the Advent wreath according to our imagination and glue the stars to the wreath using the material.
